Moses Itauma’s upcoming fight has had to be postponed.
The Chatham heavyweight boxer was due to face American Jermaine Franklin Jnr in Manchester next weekend, on January 24.
Queensberry Promotions confirmed the fight is now off, however, after Itauma picked up an injury in camp.
That injury means the ‘Magnificent 7’ show has now been postponed, and a new date of Saturday, March 28 has been announced.
Itauma will fight at the same venue, Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena.
His next opponent, Franklin Jnr, has never been stopped in his 26 bouts, winning 24 of them and is expected to provide the highly-rated Kent man with a stern challenge.
Franklin’s only two losses have come against Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.
Itauma has won all 13 of his fights to date, including a stunning win to beat Whyte in August, dropping him inside a round.
Eleven of Itauma’s wins have come by knockout, with many regarding him as a future world heavyweight champion.
He headlined the last show for the first time and holds the Commonwealth and WBO inter-continental heavyweight belts.
