Week of A2, M2, M20 and M25 closures in Kent for drivers to avoid

There will also be Dartford Tunnel closures during the week

As a new week begins, National Highways has confirmed the full details on all of the major overnight closures impacting travel on Kent’s busiest motorways and A-roads. Stretches of the A2, M2, M20 and M25 will close over the coming days as carriageways are repaired or improved.

Each weeknight from Monday, January 12 up to and including Friday, January 16, the A282 Junction 1B roundabout will close for resurfacing works. Meanwhile, the A282 northbound Junction 2 to Junction 1B link road will also shut on these nights for resurfacing.

Closures continue at the Dartford Crossing for ongoing maintenance, with the west tunnel to close every night from Monday to Saturday. The east tunnel will then shut on Sunday night into Monday morning, and as this is the taller tunnel of the two, there will be no northbound access over the Dartford Crossing for vehicles taller than 4.8m on this night.

Monday, January 12

• The A2 westbound Cobham entry slip will close from 8pm to 1am for maintenance.
• The A2 westbound Marling Cross entry slip will shut between 11.45pm to 6am for maintenance.
• The A2 westbound Bean entry slip will shut from 8pm to 6am for sign works.
• The A21 southbound will close from Morleys Road roundabout to Vauxhall Lane between 8pm and 6am for surfacing works.
• The A21 northbound will close from Kippings Cross to Pembury Road junction between 8pm to 6am for horticulture works.
• The A282 Junction 1B roundabout will close from 10pm to 5.30am for resurfacing works.
• The A282 northbound Junction 2 to Junction 1B link road will close between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing works. The A282 northbound Junction 1B entry slip will close at this time as well.
• The A282 northbound Dartford Crossing west tunnel will shut between 9pm and 5.30am for maintenance.
• The A282 northbound Junction 1A entry slip will be closed from 9pm to 5.30am for maintenance.
• The M2 eastbound Farthing Corner entry slip will close from 8pm to 6am for inspections.
• The M20 eastbound Junction 8 exit slip will close between 8pm and 6am for barrier works.
• The M20 eastbound Junction 9 entry slip will shut from 8pm to 6am for drainage works.
• The M20 westbound will close at Junction 1 between the entry and exit slips from 10pm to 5.30am for repair works.
• The M25 clockwise Junction 3 to the M20 eastbound Junction 1 link road will be closed from 10pm to 5.30am for technology works.

Tuesday, January 13

• The A2 westbound Cobham exit slip will shut from 8pm to 6am for maintenance.
• The A2 westbound Bean entry slip will shut from 8pm to 6am for sign works.
• The A20 westbound Courtwood exit slip will close between 8pm and 5am for maintenance.

• The A21 northbound will close from Kippings Cross to Pembury Road junction between 8pm to 6am for horticulture works.
• The A282 Junction 1B roundabout will close from 10pm to 5.30am for resurfacing works.
• The A282 northbound Junction 2 to Junction 1B link road will close between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing works. The A282 northbound Junction 1B entry slip will close at this time as well.
• The A282 northbound Dartford Crossing west tunnel will shut between 9pm and 5.30am for maintenance.
• The A282 northbound Junction 1A entry slip will be closed from 9pm to 5.30am for maintenance.

• The A21 northbound will close from Kippings Cross to Pembury Road junction between 8pm to 6am for horticulture works.
• The A282 Junction 1B roundabout will close from 10pm to 5.30am for resurfacing works.
• The A282 northbound Junction 2 to Junction 1B link road will close between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing works. The A282 northbound Junction 1B entry slip will close at this time as well.

Saturday, January 17

• The A282 northbound Dartford west tunnel will shut between 10pm and 5am for maintenance.

Sunday, January 18

• The A282 Junction 1B roundabout will close from 10.30pm to 5.30am for resurfacing works.
• The A282 northbound Junction 2 to Junction 1B link road will close between 10.30pm and 5.30am for resurfacing works. The A282 northbound Junction 1B entry slip will close at this time as well.
• The A282 northbound east tunnel at the Dartford Crossing will close between 10pm and 5am for tunnel works. There will be no access for vehicles over 4.8m tall. Vehicles between 4.8m (15‘-9”) and 5.0m (16’-6”) high will be diverted via M25 clockwise.
