A U-turn led to the pair’s downfall
Police in North Belfast revealed last night that a father and son were arrested after they drew suspicion by conducting a U-turn.
They did this in an attempt to get away from PSNI officers who were dealing with another stopped vehicle. Officers at the scene got into their police car and soon caught up with the pair where they immediately recognised the driver.
The driver is disqualified from driving and subsequently cannot hold motor insurance. Police conducted an inspection of the car which revealed the number plate’s belonged to another black Vauxhall. The driver’s son who was also in the car tried to leave the scene with carrier bags which prompted officers to stop him.

The passenger was found to have a large quantity Class A, Class B and Class C drugs which were located along with a large sum of cash and several mobile telephones. The driver was arrested for driving whilst disqualified, no insurance, using the false number plates and possession of Class A, Class B and Class C drugs with intent to supply and possessing criminal property.
His son was arrested for possession of Class A, Class B and Class C drugs with intent to supply. Subsequent searches were conducted which uncovered further drugs.
