Love Island’s Belle Hassan is set to return to the villa for the upcoming series of All Stars.
ITV Love Island star Belle Hassan has responded to her former partner’s comments after being confirmed for the upcoming All Stars series.
The 27 year old first appeared on the popular ITV2 dating programme aged 21 during its fifth series, which also featured the likes of Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury. During her time in the villa, Belle was paired with bodybuilder Anton Danyluk.
The couple narrowly missed out on a top five finish before eventually parting ways after leaving the show. Anton later appeared in the inaugural All Stars series, where he secured fifth place.
It appears viewers could have witnessed a reunion had producers secured their preferred line-up for that series. Speaking exclusively, Belle disclosed that she’d previously been approached to return to the villa.
She explained: ” I had a couple of interviews for the first All Stars and then I met someone so it was sort of, not the right time for me.”, reports OK!.
Whilst this meant audiences were denied a potentially explosive reunion, Belle elaborated on why the timing feels perfect now.
“If the universe is giving it to me, why not? I’m not very good at picking my own boyfriends. So if we fast track the slow, long, annoying, process of dating. I’ve got to live with them. I love that. So that’s sort of why really.”
Following ITV’s announcement of the cast list, Belle’s former partner Anton wasted no time in sharing his thoughts. Taking to Instagram, he uploaded several images alongside his reaction to the news, writing: “My ex is back. So what does that mean for me? The Love Island All Stars line-up was announced yesterday and I wasn’t surprised to see Belle there. I’ve spoken openly since my last show about never doing reality TV again.
“So naturally people have been asking ‘does this change anything?’ First of all – I want to wish Belle nothing but the best. She’s one of the kindest, most honest and loyal people you could meet and I know she’ll absolutely smash it.
“As for me. this changes absolutely nothing. I’ve come too far in the last two years, and going back would be a massive step backwards in my life. I’ve found true happiness. I’ve found my purpose again. Helping thousands of people improve their fitness, confidence and wellbeing means more to me than any TV show ever could.”
The remainder of his post was dedicated to publicising his most recent business enterprise. Whilst Belle remained oblivious to Anton’s statement before entering the Villa in South Africa, she inadvertently managed to offer a reply.
When quizzed about potentially reuniting with Anton on the programme, she responded: “Do you know what I wouldn’t mind seeing Anton again. He’s all right. I think I’ve seen him a few times obviously since we split up but we’ve never sort of had that sort of tough conversation about things from when we were together. But, you know, it’d be nice to sort of have him when we can’t escape from me to have a chat with him about things.”
That said, she’s determined not to revisit the past romantically. She continued: “You know, we can’t run away from it but we’re not on bad terms. So like, you know, I’ve spoken to him here and there and I wouldn’t mind seeing him. I think if anything we’d have a nice friendship. I don’t think I’d go backwards, you know, an ex for a reason and all that but it would be nice to see him.”
Whilst Belle appears relaxed heading into her second Love Island stint, she’s made it abundantly clear she won’t tolerate any nonsense from potential suitors. Outlining her dealbreakers, she confessed: “I hate a guy that thinks the whole world revolves around them. That’s not for me, white jeans, not for me.
“And also if a man wants me to chase, like I want him to be 100 for me and if he wants, I’m happy for a little light jog but a sprint, no chance of that I won’t be chasing.”
Love Island All Stars returns to ITV2 and ITVX on Monday, January 12 at 9pm. For the latest showbiz, TV, movie and streaming news, go to the new **Everything Gossip** website.
