A person was passed into the care of paramedics following a crash in Ashford. Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) crews were called to the collision in Sir Henry Brackenbury Road just after 6am this morning (January 8).

Three fire engines attended and crews worked to make the scene safe and provide provisional first aid. One person was passed into the care of the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb), KFRS said.

A fire service spokesperson said: “The cause is believed to be due to vehicles slipping on black ice. Crews are reminding everyone to use extra caution when driving in cold temperatures as there could be black ice on the roads, so avoid sudden braking and leave plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front.”
