A man has been charged with an aggravated burglary in Sevenoaks. The incident happened at an address in Seal High Street during the evening of December 27.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was allegedly assaulted with a hammer and threatened after some men gained entry to the property.

It is reported a mobile phone was damaged, and a chain along with cash were stolen.

The police were alerted and three men, one of whom was known to the victim, were arrested on December 29 and 30.

Numan Ahmed, of Sandgate Road, Folkestone was later charged with multiple offences including aggravated burglary and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Ahmed, 36, was remanded to Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court where he was conditionally bailed to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on January 26.

A 29-year-old man from Tonbridge and a 25-year-old man from Barking, Essex were conditionally bailed pending further investigation.
