The Golden Palace, a Chinese restaurant on South Street in Seaford, announced on social media that it will be closing for good.

In a message posted on Facebook, the restaurant said that February 28 would be its last day in business.

It has been open for more than 20 years.

The message read: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have decided to close our doors permanently.

“Our last day of trading will be Saturday, February 28, 2026.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support throughout our 20 years of trading in Seaford.

“Thank you very much. We hope to see you all again before our final day.

“Many thanks, with love from the Golden Palace team.”

The announcement was met with an outpouring of emotion on the Seaford Notice Board Facebook group.

Louise Bryant wrote: “Thank you for all your amazing food and service for many years.

“You will be greatly missed.”

Alex McCormick commented: “This is so sad, your food is wonderful and you are all so lovely.

“We wish you the very best for the future and hope everything goes well for you all, whatever you do.”

Nick Randle said: “This is gutting news. Had so many scrummy takeaways from you over the years.

“Always delicious food and plentiful generous portions, and very reasonably priced.

“And I loved sitting in. A big miss.”

Vikki Ardley wrote: “Very sad to hear. Definitely a loss for Seaford.

“Wishing you all the very best for your future.”

Jenny Ranger added: “Oh no! This is such a shame!

“We’ve been going to the Golden Palace for many years and your food has always been consistently amazing!

“You will all be very much missed.”
