With the year drawing to a close, we’re taking a look back at the Bromley food and hospitality businesses that celebrated success at local, regional and national awards in 2025.

From long-established curry houses to community-focused cafés, Bromley’s dining scene proved it has plenty to shout about in 2025.

The Bombay, Orpington & Swanley

Longstanding family-run restaurant The Bombay has had huge success, winning numerous awards this year as well as opening its second Swanley restaurant in spring this year.

Now in its fifth decade, the family-run business is overseen by brothers Kobir, Sah and MJ Hussain, serving traditional Indian fare across its two restaurants in Orpington and Swanley.

Signature dishes include the Chicken or Lamb Shatkora, infused with lemon, and the Kakra Masala — crab cooked with shallots, spring onions, herbs and spices — alongside indulgent desserts such as gourmet cheesecakes and velvet cake.

Ollie Polly Play Café, Bromley

Created as a welcoming space for parents, carers and young children, the café combines wholesome food with a Montessori-style play area designed specifically for under-fives.

The business began with successful pop-up cafés in Beckenham before finding a permanent home.
