Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire at Cliff Close, Seaford, at 2.43am this morning (December 28).
At the peak of the fire, eight fire engines were on the scene.
In a statement published at 5am, the service said: “Firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus and using two main jets and two hose reel jets to fight the fire.
“Ambulance and police are also on scene.
“Two casualties are now in the care of the ambulance service.
“Please avoid the area.”
As of 6am, the fire service confirmed the fire was out and crews would be back on the scene around 8.30am to reinspect the property.
It said a fire inspection will take place in due course.
