Police say they attended an address on Drumlaken Street in Summerston shortly before 10am on Monday, December 15, in connection with an ongoing investigation.
Images sent to the Glasgow Times showed a large emergency service presence in this area around that time.
A number of properties near Drumlaken Street were also evacuated during this period as a precaution.
Meanwhile, it is understood that parents, carers, and guardians of pupils at nearby John Paul Academy were sent text messages to reassure them that everyone at the school was safe.
Various road closures were in place on Caldercuilt Road, between Arrochar Street and Rothes Drive, and Arrochar Street at Drumlaken Street.

Pictures showed police vehicles blocking the roads with officers standing guard.
More than six hours later, at around 5pm, Police Scotland confirmed cops, including firearms officers, remained at the scene.
There have been no further updates from the force since.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.50am on Monday, December 15, 2025, officers attended an address on Drumlaken Street in Glasgow in connection with an ongoing investigation.
“Police, including firearms officers, remain at the scene. A number of nearby properties have been evacuated as a precaution.
“There are also road closures in place on Caldercuilt Road, between Arrochar Street and Rothes Drive, and Arrochar Street at Drumlaken Street.”
Residents at nearby properties were eventually able to return home shortly after 7pm.
Glasgow City Council noted that the Bellcraig Centre had been used as a temporary rest centre for those who were displaced during this time.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: “Residents displaced from properties on Drumlaken Street, Summerston, should now be able to return home.
“The temporary rest centre at Bellcraig Community Centre has now closed.”
