She did not know the man who approached her
Witnesses are being sought after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in a town centre alleyway. Officers were called following the incident off Sheerness High Street, near the junction with Bridge Road, at around 5.35pm on Wednesday, December 3.
It is alleged a woman was approached by a man she did not know who sexually assaulted her, Kent Police said. A suspect was arrested in connection with the incident on Monday (December 8).
The 48-year-old man, of no fixed address, was later released on bail pending further enquiries. Officers are appealing for witnesses who may have information that will assist their investigation.
Specifically, they would like to speak to three boys who accompanied the victim to a nearby fast-food restaurant after the incident. A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Detectives are also seeking a man who may have been approached by the suspect and was engaged in conversation with him while sitting on a seat at Sheerness train station at around 6.43pm that evening.”
