Four fire engines rushed to the scene
Three people have been treated by paramedics after a fire broke out at a bungalow and spread next door. Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) rushed to the scene in Elwill Way, Istead Rise, near Gravesend, shortly before 7.30am this morning (December 12).
Four fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets, main jets and fog spikes to extinguish the flames. A KFRS spokesperson said: “The fire is believed to have spread from a chimney fire in one bungalow to the roofing of the neighbouring bungalow.
“Fortunately, smoke detectors were installed in the second property, and the alarm was raised in time. Three people were passed into the care of SECAmb for precautionary checks.”
The fire service said the cause of the blaze “is not yet known”.
