Several busy lines around the county will close for engineering

Commuters will need to keep in mind a number of key changes to Southeastern train journeys this weekend as planned works will see several bus stations close. The rail operator has confirmed details on engineering works taking place on Sunday (December 14), impacting journeys around Kent and beyond.

On this date, there will be no Southeastern services via London Canon Street or via Greenwich. This is due to engineering taking place between London Cannon Street, London Bridge and Greenwich, and on some of the lines through New Cross used by services to and from London Cannon Street.

Busy stations including St Johns, Deptford, Greenwich and Charlton will be closed all day as a result. Elsewhere, buses will replace trains to and from Swanley on Sunday as works are taking place between Bickley and Rochester.

As such, key Southeastern stations such as Meopham, Shoreham, Otford, Bat and Ball, St Mary Cray, Longfield and Sole Street will be closed all day. Rail replacement buses will serve journeys where lines and stations are closed, the full details of which can be found below.

Finally, buses will also replace trains between Dover Priory and Ramsgate this Sunday as engineering works close all lines between the two stations via Deal. Accessible replacement buses will run between Dover Priory and Ramsgate, calling at all stations.

Passengers have also been advised to keep in mind a number of changes to train services around Christmas. As usual, there will be no services on the Southeastern network on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Further details on the changes to trains over the festive period can be found here.
