Emergency services were called to London Road, in Bognor, yesterday evening (December 5).
The pedestrianised area of the street was closed off as crews worked, as well as nearby Bedford Street. The road has since been reopened.
Police have confirmed that no injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made at this time.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “The fire is being treated as suspicious, and officers are conducting an ongoing investigation.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any relevant information such as CCTV or mobile footage is encouraged to report it to us online or by calling 101 quoting serial 1322 of 05/12.”
Members of the public were advised to avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed while fire crews worked.
At the height of the fire, six fire engines were on the scene.
A spokeswoman for the fire service added: “We were called at 20.06 to reports of a fire on the pedestrianised section of London Road, Bognor Regis
“Joint Fire Control mobilised three pumps to the scene.
“Upon arrival firefighters were faced with a retail unit that was on fire. A further three pumps were deployed, and the fire was brought under control.
“Fire crews left the scene at approximated 01.00. Sussex Police remained in attendance.”
