The draw has been made for the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Faversham Town’s reward for dumping out Step 2 Maidenhead United is a trip to another National League South side in Ebbsfleet United, who put five past Ashford Town (Middx) at the weekend.

Faversham boss Tommy Warrilow had three spells as a player at Gravesend & Northfleet, making 82 appearances and scoring 10 goals. He skippered the Fleet to the Southern League Southern Division title in 1993/94. He also had a brief spell as chief scout at Stonebridge Road in 2014.

One of five Step 5 teams in the draw, Whitstable will have another home tie if they can get past Isthmian Premier Chichester in their replay. The winners will entertain Hungerford Town,

There’s another Kent derby for Chatham Town, fresh from beating Ashford United in the previous round. Kevin Hake’s side will entertain Isthmian South East Deal Town at The Bauvill with the winners then just one round away from a potential Football League opponent in the first round proper.

Deal, who are in the third qualifying round for the first time since 1997/98, are aiming to reach the fourth qualifying round for the first time in their history.

Cray Valley know all about that after taking Charlton to a replay two years ago. Steve McKimm could come up against one of his former clubs with Tonbridge Angels possible visitors should they see off Steyning Town Community in their replay.

McKimm was axed by Tonbridge in 2022 after eight years at Longmead, a spell which included promotion back to National League South via the unique Super Play Off in 2019.

Folkestone, who knocked out Maidstone United on Friday night, are on the road with Westfield or Horsham awaiting while Welling will be away to Bedfont if they win their midweek replay at Slough.

Ties are due to be played on Saturday, September 27 with winning sides earning £5,625 in prize money and losing teams collecting £1,875.
