Last week, it was announced the 2025 International Mini Meeting would no longer be going ahead due to low ticket sales.

The event was due to take place between August 21-25 at the Laughton Showground, between Lewes and Hailsham.

On August 1, organisers announced that the event would be postponed stating that it would not be “financially viable to run the event as originally planned” and looking out how they could reduce costs.

The statement read: “We regret to inform you that IMM 2025 Ltd has ceased trading.

“The company is in the process of being placed into creditors’ voluntary liquidation as it is insolvent.

“The proposed liquidators will write to all known creditors (including customers) in due course.

“Customers may wish to speak to their bank or credit card company to determine whether they are eligible to make a chargeback claim.”

However, a Shoreham car meet has offered disappointed Mini owners an alternative.

The Heretics car meet takes place every third Thursday of the month during the summer (April-September) at The Heritage Parts Centre.

Normally the event is only open to owners of Volkswagen, Porsche, and Land-Rover vehicles, but following the news of the 2025 IMM cancellation they have extended its offer to Mini owners.

Organisers said: “We are more than happy to welcome our friends from the Mini community who have been let down by the cancelling of their event.

“We have space for a couple of hundred cars and more if the minis share two to a parking space!”

This month’s meet is set to take place on August 21 at the centre on Dolphin Road in Shoreham.

The event will run from 5.30pm until 8.30pm, and people are invited to simply turn up.

The meet will also host a DJ and local street food stall.
