“I have been every year and it’s never been this chaotic. Previous years were amazing and enjoyable – this year it was all about the money.”

Joanne Roxburgh also commented on Facebook, saying: “Getting in was ridiculous – packed liked sardines for ages, people pushing and shoving.
“It was mental. And once you got in, you felt like you couldn’t relax.”
The organisers posted on Instagram: “We are very sorry for the delays to entry to Pride on the Park and Pride Street Party on Saturday, and apologise for the longer than expected wait times.
“We thank everyone for their patience on such a busy day.
“We have listened to all your feedback and we will also be fully reviewing after the event to improve further for future years.
“We know we must do better.”
