Police believe the incident happened on Station Road, between 12.30am and 1am on July 2.
A woman in her 30s was said to have been assaulted by a man. The pair were reportedly inside the Robertsbridge social club prior to the incident.
The woman attended hospital where it was confirmed she had sustained a serious facial injury. She has since been discharged.
Police are currently appealing for the identity of the man which they believe was involved.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “We are asking anyone who witnessed what happened, knows the person photographed, or has any footage or information to make a report.
