Danny James Banaghan, 30, of Quebec Road, St Leonards, must pay £395 in total — a £218 fine, £87 victim surcharge and £90 costs — for driving a KTM motorbike on Bohemia Road, Hastings on June 24, 2024 without holding a valid licence for that class of vehicle. The motorcycle was fitted with an exhaust system which allowed gases from the engine to escape into the atmosphere without first passing through the silencer, and the number plate did not conform with the appropriate regulations, in that it was too small. Banaghan pleaded guilty to all of the above, and his driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
Sebastian Szczepanski, 43, of Carisbrooke Road, St Leonards, must pay £1,014 in total — a £660 fine, £264 victim surcharge and £90 costs — for failing to give information to identify the driver of a Mercedes at Shoreham on November 4, 2024. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months. The verdict was proved in his absence.
Kyly Stephenson-Walter, 42, of Grand Parade, Brighton, must pay a £100 fine after admitting to breaching a community order by failing to attend office appointments on May 21, May 29, and June 3, 2025.
Christina True, 47, of Windsor Road, Bexhill, must pay £60 in fines and £60 in costs after admitting to breaching a domestic violence protection order by contacting a protected individual and entering a protected address on June 10, 2025.
Claire Elizabeth Powell, 59, of Bolney Road, Cowfold, Horsham, must pay £713 in a fine, surcharge, and costs, and received three penalty points, for driving a Land Rover at speeds exceeding 70 mph on April 4, 2023 on the A23 approaching the B2115 overbridge at Warninglid. She changed her plea to guilty, having originally pleaded not guilty. In a separate case, Powell was also fined £346 for driving a Land Rover at speeds exceeding 70 mph on March 13, 2023 on the A23 at Albourne. She changed her plea to guilty, having originally pleaded not guilty. She received three penalty points, but no disqualification was applied, due to the impact it would have on her employees.
Guiliano Hassani, 44, of no fixed abode, admitted breaching a suspended sentence order made after failing to attend unpaid work sessions on September 10, 2024, and October 15, 2024. No separate penalty was imposed.
Andy Phillips, 48, of Coopers Hill, Eastbourne, must pay £294 in a £146 fine, a £58 victim surcharge and £90 court costs for exceeding the 30 mph speed limit when driving a Mini at 38 mph on the A22 High Street at Nutley on November 20, 2024. He pleaded guilty and his licence was endorsed with three penalty points.
John Antony Evans, 44, of Bowring Way, Brighton, must pay £112 in an £80 fine and a £32 victim surcharge for exceeding the 70 mph speed limit when driving a Vauxhall on the A27 at Hangleton on August 18, 2024. He pleaded guilty, and his licence was endorsed with four penalty points.
Charlie Winwood, 27, of Grand Parade, Brighton, had his 12-week suspended prison sentence activated after failing to maintain contact with probation officers since being sentenced on May 3, 2025. He admitted the breach. The suspended sentence had originally been imposed for stealing a toaster and a coffee maker worth £78 from Asda in Oxford on July 7, 2024, and for failing to surrender to custody at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on July 31, 2024.
