The Ivy has been serving tennis-lovers the “centre court melting bomb” which includes a fluffy milk foam, chopped fresh strawberries, shortbread and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

The luxurious pud is then drizzled with a silky strawberry sauce, making for a light and delectable end to your meal.

We visited Brighton’s Ivy in The Lanes to try the limited edition dessert and it did not disappoint.

The strawberry sauce and the white chocolate shell were a perfect pairing and it was great fun to crack it open.

The first bite was a perfect combination of creamy chocolate, tangy strawberry and crisp shortbread – a satisfying way to celebrate Wimbledon season.

It is only available until Sunday, July 13.

Before we delved into dessert, we picked a couple of courses off the main menu.

To start I had the duck liver parfait accompanied by caramelised hazelnuts and apricot and apple chutney with toasted brioche.

For pate lovers, this is the dream. The parfait was smooth and the chutney added a sweet edge to it.

The steak was cooked perfectly, medium-rare, and was only elevated by the rich and spicy peppercorn sauce.

The meal was washed down with a couple of cocktails – a Brighton bloom, Brighton Gin with strawberry puree, raspberry sorbet, lemon and rose syrup, and a Tatin old fashioned, Ron Santiago De Cuba Anejo, 30/40 Double Jus, Noix de Peres Chatreux, demerara and bitters.

Make sure to swing by for your Wimbledon-inspired pudding this weekend – and maybe a cocktail or two.
