Runners raced round the course in Bolney, near Haywards Heath, yesterday, June 21.

A range of creative costumes were on show, including Mario and Luigi, Stranger Things characters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The Bolney Pram Race is an annual village event which has been held for over 30 years.

The participants are able to stop at pit stops along the way.

There are multiple categories for different age groups and the organisers say it “embodies good sportsmanship, community spirit and provides an opportunity to get to know your neighbours a bit better”.

Riders from SERV Sussex, a charity that provides transport services for blood, blood products and other medical items, also took part.

After the event, one person who attended said: “Thanks for having me again this year.

“Brilliant day. Lots of smiles and eccentricity.
