Leicester, UK – 31st May 2025 – The inaugural Britain Desi Honour Awards 2025, hosted by the Brits Desi Society, took place on Saturday, 31st May at the Utsav Banqueting Hall on Melton Road, Leicester. The event marked a significant milestone in celebrating individuals who have made outstanding contributions to community service and social development within the British Desi and wider UK community.
The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Rishu Walia, Chairman of the Brits Desi Society, who highlighted the importance of recognising and uplifting those whose tireless work strengthens and empowers the community. Mr. Walia expressed his hopes of establishing the awards as an annual tradition.
A Celebration of Service and Impact
The evening brought together an inspiring mix of honourees spanning generations—from a 92-year-old community and faith leader to a 27-year-old scientist—each with a powerful story of dedication and impact.
Cllr Jasvir K. Chohan, Mayor of Oadby & Wigston, attended as Chief Guest and commended the initiative for its commitment to honouring grassroots leadership and achievement.
