Lengthy queues of customers were spotted gathering outside a growing restaurant chain as it prepares to open its second Kent location.

Scores of foodies flocked to Pho’s new store in Mount Pleasant Road in Tunbridge Wells on Friday, greeted with a free helping of its namesake dish.

While officially opening on Tuesday (May 13), the soft launch went down resoundingly well with dozens lining the streets.

The business is relatively new to Kent, having opened its first store in Canterbury in 2023.

It has also confirmed it will move into Bluewater shopping centre in the near future, with signage erected in the Greenhithe attraction.

Pho was formed in 2005 by Stephen and Juliette Wall after they became inspired by the dish pho, a soup consisting of broth, rice noodles, herbs and meat, during a trip to Vietnam.

Pronounced ‘fuh’, it is the national dish of the Southeast Asian country and has roots dating back to the early 1900s.

It serves a range of authentic dishes, including the Vietnamese noodle soup it is named after, as well as summer rolls with peanut sauce, Asian salads, curries and more.

It has 40-plus locations, most of which are in London but it also has branches in other cities across the UK including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Cardiff.
