Sussex weather to heat up as region hit by ‘mini heatwave’
The BBC predicts temperatures will begin to climb in the next few days and into next week “as the wind changes direction to a south-easterly and we tap into some warmer air from the near continent”.
It claims temperatures in South East England are forecast to reach 25C to 27C by Wednesday (April 30).
“This pattern could remain in place until the end of next week at least,” BBC weather says.
What does the Met Office say?
The Met Office predictions also say the temperatures will get warmer, reaching around 22C in the South East.
Between Monday, April 28 and Wednesday, May 7, it says it will include “widely fine and sunny spells”.
The Met Office says: “Most likely starting off widely fine with sunny spells, following the clearance of early morning mist and fog.
“This most likely in the south, whilst in the north there’s a greater chance of more cloud which may take some time to clear.
“There’s a small chance that fine and very warm weather could extend right across the country over the following days, but it’s more likely that cloud/rain in the northwest will sink southeast introducing more changeable and cooler conditions for a time mid-week.”
Brighton is predicted to hit 23C on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week.
