Adam Reid, from Bexhill, has been charged with 19 counts of fraud by false representation and one count of fraudulent trading.
The Sussex Police investigation relates to fraud against 19 victims between November 2022 and February 2025.
The force said people in Hastings and Rother lost nearly £30,000.
Reid, of Dorset Road, was arrested in October last year for further investigation and was again arrested on April 3 following additional allegations.
The 40-year-old appeared before Brighton and Hove Magistrates’ Court on April 5, where he was remanded into custody to appear before Lewes Crown Court on May 2.
