An investigation is underway after a pensioner was reportedly assaulted while trying to block a shoplifting suspect from escaping a store.
The man in his 80s was buying goods at The Co-op in Forbes Road, Faversham when he attempted to stop the man.

After seeking the help of staff at the supermarket, it is alleged the victim was then pushed over before suffering a cut to his head.
The incident happened at about 5.45pm on Friday.
Police have now released a CCTV image of a man who they believe can help with their inquiries.
