The offices will be closed to staff until Monday.

Bartholomew House in BrightonSouth East Coast Ambulance Service dispatched ambulance crews to the scene following reports of initially one person requiring medical attention, they then received a second call for another person requiring attention.

Ambulance crews attended and two people were assessed and treated before being taken to hospital for further checks, the ambulance service has said.

Gibbons added: “Our specialist contractor has now completed thorough air quality checks. We have received confirmation that no issues or hazardous airborne substances were found, and the building is safe to use.

“The first floor has remained closed today to allow for a deep clean and for natural ventilation to provide additional reassurance in addition to other measures being implemented.

“It will reopen to staff on Monday 3 March.

“We will continue to explore what happened and caused the incident. The health and safety of our staff and visitors to our buildings is paramount.”
