Southborough Road, between the junctions of Oldfield Road and Park Hill, will be blocked off to vehicles from 8am on Monday, March 3, until 6pm on Monday, March 10.
The closure is to allow UK Power Networks (UKPN) to install a new electricity supply to a property.
The London Borough of Bromley has issued a notice under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, announcing its intention to impose the temporary prohibition.
This means no vehicles will be allowed to wait on the affected part of the street for the entire duration of the works.
Any vehicles found in contravention of the order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986, or by the council using its powers.
The prohibition will only apply when indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
The order will come into effect on Monday, March 3, with a maximum duration of 18 months, though the works are expected to be completed within seven days.
Access to properties will be maintained as far as practicable from either side of the closure.
Emergency access and egress routes will be maintained at all times.
The order does not apply to vehicles being used in connection with the works or to anything done with the permission or direction of a police officer in uniform or a traffic warden.
Southborough Road is a residential street in Bickley, Bromley.
The temporary closure is expected to cause some disruption to residents and road users.
UK Power Networks (UKPN) is the electricity distribution network operator for London, the South East, and the East of England.
They are responsible for delivering electricity to homes and businesses and maintaining the infrastructure that carries this power.
The company is currently upgrading its network to meet the growing demand for electricity and to ensure a reliable supply in the future.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Bromley Council said: “The temporary parking restriction will be in place in Southborough Road Bickley between the junctions of Oldfield Road and Park Hill on both sides of the street.
“The restriction will be in place from 8am on Monday, March 3 2025 until Monday March 10 at 6pm for the entire works duration.”
For more information about the works, residents can contact the council’s Environmental Services Department (Street Services Section) on 020 8461 7507.
