We previously reported how a resident found two domestic rats on Morar Drive in the town, one on Monday, February 3, and another 24 hours later.

The Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) have now confirmed that a third animal was found in the same area on Friday, February 7 after the same resident informed them.

A rescue officer attended and took the rat for a vet check and then transported it to one of the animal rescue centres.

None of the rats found sustained any injuries.

A spokesperson for the SSPCA said: “We received a call on Monday, February 3 about an injured domestic rat in the Morar Drive area of Paisley.

“An animal rescue officer attended and took the rat for a vet check and then transported it to one of the animal rescue centres.

“The helpline received a subsequent call on Tuesday, February 4 and Friday, February 7 from the same caller stating they had found another domestic rat.”

“The animal rescue officer attended and took both rats to one of the animal rescue centres.

“Neither of these rats had any injuries.

“If anyone has any information on these domestic rats then they should call the animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
