The visit has coincided with the fourth anniversary of the screening of the hit Channel 4 drama ‘It’s A Sin’ which depicted the lives of gay men living through the aids crisis in London during the 80s.
Olly Alexander appears as the series’ lead Ritchie Tozer, while the Sussex Beacon’s patron Jill Nalder was the inspiration behind the character of Jill Baxter.
After dropping into the Beacon, Olly said: “It was so moving and inspiring to visit and learn about the vital work the staff are doing.

“I can’t wait to visit again and I’m excited to work together in the future.”
The miniseries broke audience records when it first came out, with more than 6.5 million viewers streaming within a month of going to air, restarting conversations about HIV.
Four years on, Olly continues to use his platform to bring awareness to HIV by helping to address many of the issues encountered by people living with HIV, including HIV stigma.
