East Renfrewshire Council have confirmed that Pollokshields Medical Centre will shut down later this year, with a letter being sent to the addresses of those registered there by the end of May to inform patients of their new GP location.
The decision comes after Dr Arfan and Dr Moughal dissolved the GP partnership and the council were unable to retender the practice to other doctors.
Patients will be relocated to other GP practices in the postcode area.

Greenlaw Medical Practice in Newton Mearns is also set to close as part of the move.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have been managing the practice since August 1, 2024, and work with other practices will now commence.
The local authority insists “many solutions have been explored but, regrettably, the decision has been taken to close the practice”.
Patients can continue to make appointments with Greenlaw Medical Practice and Pollokshields Medical Centre until they learn their new practice.
Anyone with further queries or concerns about the change, or any particular difficulties can contact Greenlaw@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk.
