Police Scotland revealed that a 35-year-old man has been arrested following an investigation into a fatal road crash on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Officers were called to an incident, which took place around 12.40am on Quarry Street, Hamilton.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, James Craig, aged 70, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Now, the 35-year-old was arrested in connection with road traffic offences.

Cops are asking anyone with any information to contact police on 101, quoting incident 0171 of Sunday, October 27, 2024.

We previously reported that James’ family left a touching tribute to their loved one.

They said: “Our beloved Dad and Papa was a bright light in our lives so full of love, energy, and kindness. It’s hard to believe he’s been taken from us far too soon.

“We were blessed to have him, and we know his warmth and laughter touched so many. The messages and support from family and friends have brought us comfort in this painful time, and we want to say thank you to everyone who has reached out.

“Your kind words mean so much as we remember the wonderful man he was and the love he brought to us all.”
