The incident happened at a bus stop in Littlebrook Manor Way between 11.30am and 11.45am yesterday (February 4).
The victim went to hospital with injuries to his face and hands and was later discharged.
He was known to the attacker, according to Kent Police which is investigating the incident.
A police spokesperson said: “A man was assaulted by a man known to him near a bus stop in Littlebrook Manor Way, Dartford between 11.30am and 11.45am on Tuesday 4 February.
“The man attended a local hospital after sustaining injuries to his face and hands. He was later discharged.
“An investigation is ongoing and anyone with relevant information should contact Kent Police on 01474 366149 quoting 46/20367/25.”
