The footage taken from a vehicle in Darenth Park Avenue, near Moore Close, has been shared on social media, sparking outrage and concern for the animal involved.

In the short clip, a light coloured dog can be seen standing alert at the side of a large black car.

The dog is on a lead, being held with one hand by a man driving the car.

Police say the incident has been referred to the RSPCA (Image: Alan Blackburn (FB)) As the car takes off, the dog begins to walk and is seen having to gain speed to keep up with the vehicle.

It is the second known incident of dogs being made to walk on a lead alongside vehicles, after footage taken on January 7 captured the moment two dogs on leads were dragged alongside a silver vehicle.

The footage from the earlier incident was taken in Darenth Wood Road, which joins with Darenth Park Avenue.
