Roni Cerga is the CEO of VR Vision, a cutting-edge technology company revolutionising the way enterprises approach training and development. VR Vision specialise in delivering immersive learning solutions that harness the power of virtual reality.
Their mission is to make training more engaging, effective and scalable, transforming traditional methods into collaborative interactive experiences that drive real-world results. Over the years, VR Vision have partnered with global leaders such as Coca Cola, Toyota, and Siemens to bring innovative training to life.
By combining advanced technology with deep expertise in enterprise solutions, the company has established themselves as a leader in the immersive training space.
What Do You Do At VR Vision?
As CEO of VR Vision, I oversee the company’s strategic direction and operations. My role involves ensuring we stay ahead of the curve in immersive technology, nurturing partnerships with world-renowned clients, and leading our talented team.
I’m deeply involved in business development, helping clients understand the transformative potential of VR solutions. I also collaborate with our team members in development and 3D art to deliver training simulations that always surpass our client’s expectations.
Ultimately, my job is simple, it’s to ensure that both VR Vision employees and clients thrive by delivering and deploying the highest quality virtual reality simulations in the world.
What Made You Want To Start A VR Company?
I’ve always been passionate about technology and its ability to solve real-world problems. I experienced this firsthand during my near 20-year tenure working for large technology companies. When VR emerged as a viable technology, I saw its potential to reshape industries, particularly in simulation-based training.
Traditional training methods can often be time-consuming, expensive, and ineffective. I recognised that VR, with its immersive, hands-on approach would revolutionise the learning process, making it more engaging and impactful. Starting VR Vision was a way to combine my passion for innovation with a desire to help businesses improve their training strategies and achieve tangible results.
We Hear A Lot About VR And How People Use It; What Do You Do Differently?
At VR Vision, we take a client-centric approach to VR solutions. Unlike generic VR applications, our offerings are tailored to each client’s specific needs. Four core pillars set us apart from all other VR companies:
- We deliver the world’s most realistic and high-quality 3D handcrafted standalone simulations
- Our applications are primarily multiplayer, and at the highest end of the technical spectrum, they are persistently online, open-ended simulations unique outside of AAA gaming
- We prioritise a user-centric approach to development and UX
- We have created the world’s first and only cloud system that enables trainers to manage VR courses across various devices in real-time through the web and advanced usage analytics
How Does VR Specifically Help With Staff And Enterprise Training?
VR training provides a risk-free environment where employees can practice skills, make mistakes, and learn by doing. This is particularly valuable in industries with high-risk tasks or those who use a variety of very difficult-to-access equipment, such as operating heavy machinery or performing intricate technical maintenance.
By engaging multiple senses, VR enhances retention rates and reduces training time.
For enterprises, this translates into cost savings, improved safety, lower insurance premiums and better-trained staff. The data insights provided by our solutions also allow organisations to track performance and optimise their training programmes.
What Specific Problems Is VR Vision Solving?
We address the inefficiencies and limitations of traditional training methods. Many organisations struggle with high travel or training material costs, and knowledge preservation or experience low engagement and efficiency in their traditional training programmes. Our VR solutions tackle these challenges by providing immersive, standardised, and scalable training experiences.
For example, our simulations help reduce the need for physical training equipment, minimise downtime, and ensure employees are prepared for real-world tasks before they even step onto the job site.
You’ve Worked With Some Impressive Companies (Coca-Cola, Toyota, Etc.); How Have They Used VR To Improve Their Business?
One thing that’s common across all our clients and how they use the technology is that the use cases are almost always different but the benefits are shared. For example, just within Toyota as a corporation, we have seen Toyota Material Handling use the technology to train over ten thousand dealer technicians (in essence their clients) in a variety of courses, ranging from part identification to complex troubleshooting and repair.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing plants are using our applications to train over a hundred thousand manufacturing employees across multiple plants on health and safety as well as conveyance. Other clients like Siemens, have deployed and certified our courses to train 15,000 wind technicians on crane operations and distributed learning through the GWO (Global Wind Organization).
While the uses are different, even within the same enterprise, the value universally comes from connecting trainers and trainees across the globe and having them collaborate in virtual shared simulations without the need to use real-life equipment or costly travel expenses. The way they improve their business is by increasing sustainability, improved and faster learning and elimination of risk factors.
What Are The Specific Challenges You Have Faced Starting A VR-Focused Company In A Crowded Market?
Although it’s correct to think that there are many VR-focused companies, there are very few that are focused or that can deliver technical training simulations. Therefore, one of the biggest challenges has been educating potential clients about the value of VR. Many organisations are hesitant to adopt new technologies due to perceived costs or a lack of understanding.
Additionally, maintaining our technical lead in a rapidly evolving industry requires constant innovation and investment in R&D. Another hurdle has been scaling our solutions to meet the diverse needs of global clients while maintaining a reasonable cost/value ratio, which we’ve addressed by building a flexible and robust SDK (Software Development Kit).
What Is VR Vision’s Biggest Success To Date?
Our biggest success internally is our near-perfect employee retention rate, that’s at 99%. This has enabled us to develop a small but extremely talented and efficient team. While on the business front, it’s been establishing long-term partnerships with industry leaders like Toyota and Avangrid.
These collaborations have not only validated the effectiveness of our solutions but also showcased our ability to scale and deliver impactful results. A technical success milestone is the development of our unique Vision Portal platform, which has revolutionised how our clients manage and deploy VR training across their organisations.
Do You Think The True Potential Of VR Has Truly Been Harnessed Yet (If Not, Then Why Not)?
Not entirely. While VR has made significant strides, its full potential is still untapped, particularly in enterprise applications. Challenges such as hardware accessibility, integration complexities, and a general lack of awareness have slowed adoption. However, as technology advances and costs decrease, I believe we’ll see exponential growth in the use of VR across industries.
What’s Next For VR Vision and What Do The Next 3-5 Years Have In Store For You?
We’re focused on expanding our reach globally and exploring new verticals, such as the medical and freight sectors. We also plan to enhance our Vision Portal platform with AI-driven analytics to provide deeper insights into training outcomes.
Additionally, we’re investing in AR solutions to complement our VR offerings and deliver even more versatile training tools. Our goal is to remain at the forefront of innovation, helping businesses achieve their training and operational objectives.
