But now bosses say it is time to goodbye as the shop prepares to close at the end of the month.

Announcing the news on Facebook, the owners said: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of our family-run Farm Shop.

“Our proposed date for closure is Friday, January 31.

“For the past 28 years, we have been dedicated to providing our community with the freshest, locally sourced produce and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

“We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of our loyal customers who have supported us.

“We would also like to express our sincere thanks to our dedicated suppliers who have provided us with the finest quality ingredients.

“While this chapter is coming to an end, we will cherish the memories and friendships we have made along the way.

“Thank you again for your support.”

The post did not disclose the reason for the decision to shut the shop, which also stocks Nightingale Cider which is produced on the farm by its sister business.

The news has come as a shock to loyal customers who have expressed their sadness at the closure.

One person commented to say: “Sad news. Most of my family have worked there at some point.

“All the best for the future.”

Another said they would “miss the lovely ladies who staff the shop” the most, while another said they would miss the “delicious apples and pears from the farm.”

One long-standing customer who has become a familiar face said: “So very sad to be losing such a great farm shop, have been coming to you since we moved to the area 23 years ago.”
