East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire at a property in Breadsell Lane, Crowhurst near Hastings at 10.44pm last night.

Four fire engines were dispatched to the incident, when they arrived two people were evacuated from the property and left in the care of the paramedics.

Crews were still at the scene at 12.45am using breathing apparatus and jets to fight the fire.

All people were accounted for.

A spokeswoman said: “Four appliances remained at the scene in Crowhurst throughout the night. We have now scaled back.

“Crews have left the scene but will return later this morning for a re-inspection. 

“Firefighters were damping down and checking for any hot spots this morning.”
