Contestant Charlotte began the show by speaking in a Welsh accent around the other players, but in a piece to camera, she revealed she was faking it.

She explained that her mother was from Wales but her accent is English.

Some fans of The Traitors were a little bemused by this seemingly random twist and what it could be used to accomplish.

This was accompanied by the fact that one of the other contestants, Elen, is actually Welsh.
