Firstly, the MET Office has warned that strong westerly winds may lead to travel disruption on New Year’s Eve.
This could mean delays and cancelled services as gusts of 50 to 60 mph are expected, perhaps even reaching 70 mph in a few exposed areas.
As a result, a warning will be in place from 7am until 11pm on Tuesday, December 31, for the entire city and town nearby reaching as north and Greenock and Cumbernauld.

A new yellow warning has been put out for this time period as forecasters warn power outages may occur.
Two to five cm of snow is expected locally in the whole of Glasgow, reaching all the way to Clydebank in the northwest.

Some transport delays and disruptions can be expected, as well as temporary loss of power in some areas, and there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded.
