Fire crews were called to Bevin Court in Stonehouse Drive, St Leonards on Saturday morning after cladding on the front of the building was blown off.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue crews said they cordoned off the scene and made it safe before handing it over to housing association Southern Housing.

John Cannan, Hastings Borough Councillor for Wishing Tree ward, said: “I was told by one of the residents what was happening and I saw the cladding had damaged a couple of balconies below.

“The fire service took it all off as it was blowing in the wind.”
