Sussex Police say they wish to speak to man captured on CCTV who they believe could help enquiries into the incident in Milward Crescent, Hastings, last Saturday evening.
It comes after the force released an e-fit image of a man they believe knocked on a woman’s door before forcing his way into her home and attacking her.
In the new CCTV footage, a man can be seen carrying what appears to be a bottle and wearing a grey beanie and a snood.
The footage was captured on Queens Road in Hastings at 6.23pm shortly before the incident in Milward Crescent.
Sussex Police Chief Inspector Simon Yates said: “We are urgently seeking to identify this man, who we believe may hold vital information about this serious crime which left a young woman in extreme distress. She continues to receive support from specialist officers as our enquiries continue.
“Time is of the essence, and I would encourage the public to share our appeal as far as possible in an attempt to identify and locate this man. He is described as white, aged 20-30, and was wearing a black hooded jumper, grey jogging bottoms and a grey beanie hat.”
Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses and have also called for the person in the footage to contact the force.
The force previously released an e-fit image of a man they believed to be linked to the incident.
