The Drumchapel-born actor was pictured at West Side Tavern on Dumbarton Road in Partick on Friday.
He is in the city shooting scenes for his new film, and directorial debut, California Schemin’.
California Schemin’ tells the true story of how two rappers from Dundee pretended to be American and duped the record industry.

It centres around Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd who are fed up of London record producers not taking Scottish rap seriously and dismissing them as “rapping Proclaimers”.
Filming took place in Glasgow from November 6 at locations including Maryhill, Park Circus, Glasgow Green, The Barras Market, and Glasgow Queen Street.
A free noughties-themed gig also took place at the Barrowlands Ballroom on November 21 as part of filming.
On Friday, the West Side Tavern appeared to host the film’s wrap party.
A statement posted to the venue’s Instagram page reads: “Massive thanks to James McAvoy and all of the amazing Calfornia Schemin’ crew for an awesome wrap party last night.”
Punters shared their excitement in the comments.
