Emergency services were dispatched to reports of a single vehicle fire on the A27 Westbound near A23 London Road in Hove at 12.37pm on December 5.

Three fire engines and a police vehicle can be seen in attendance.

Three lanes on the A27 were closed by the police so that the fire crews could extinguish the fire.

There were no reported casualties.

A spokeswoman said: “We were called on 5 December at 12.37pm to reports of a single vehicle fire on A23-A27 westbound.

“Three fire engines were in attendance from Hove and Preston Circus.

“Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hosereel jet to extinguish the fire.

“There were no casualties reported.”

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “Emergency services responded to a car fire on the westbound A27 near Devils Dyke just after 12.35pm on 5 December.

“All three lanes were open just after 2pm.”
