Philpotts on Bothwell Street in the city centre shut its doors on Friday, November 8.
A sign on the eatery’s door, which revealed the closure, read: “Unfortunately, this store will be closing permanently on Friday, November 8.
“We would like to thank you all for the custom over the years.”

A statement on the firm’s website also confirmed the closure. It also revealed the Philpotts store in Edinburgh has also shut.
It reads: “Our Glasgow and Edinburgh stores are now permanently closed, sorry for any inconvenience.”

It now only has eight spots across England in cities including Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, and Birmingham.

The venue is known for serving up fresh sandwiches, breakfast items, and various snacks.
It is unknown why the brand decided to suddenly shut its shop in the city centre and the capital.
It comes after we reported how a popular fast-food outlet has suddenly closed its store in East Kilbride Shopping Centre.
Tim Hortons has shut its eatery in the leisure facility, the centre previously revealed.
Confirming the closure, they said the coffee chain closed its store this week, however, no exact date was given.
It is unknown why the food spot decided to close its venue in the shopping centre.
Announcing the closure of the much-loved food joint, the centre said they were ‘disappointed’.
However, they revealed that Muffin Break will be moving into Tim’s unit in the centre over the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, they also said they may announce further new retailers that will be opening at the centre soon.
