The announcement was made at the area’s first outdoor Autumn Festival.

Ardenglen Housing Association used the opportunity to gather local opinions about the proposed hub and growing space.

The festival was filled with activities for children, including balloon sculpting, a science workshop, and cake decorating.

The association’s energy advice financial inclusion team were present, providing assistance to locals on how to reduce bills.

Scottish Fire and Rescue also attended, sharing home safety tips.

Fiona McGowan, Ardenglen’s community investment manager, said: “We wanted to get local people’s input into what shape the new growing space and hub would take and the type of plants that we could grow there and the type of activities that could take place inside.

“Local people are really looking forward to the hub opening and having access to a new outdoor area.

“The feedback we got about both has been terrific.”

The association manages around 1,000 homes in the Castlemilk area.

They thanked Castlemilk Together for providing funding from Glasgow City Council’s Holiday Food Programme, which enabled free food and activities on the day.
