Cameron McKendry-Brown was due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court at 10am yesterday, October 28, after pleading guilty to stealing a disabled Blue Badge from a car in Orpington.
The 26-year-old, of Ravenscourt Road in Orpington, was also due to be sentenced for using another individual’s bank card to buy cigarettes.
This reportedly occurred after the defendant stole the individual’s wallet.
The Bromley man then stole six cans of cocktails and a sandwich from a Tesco store in Ashford, Kent, the next day.
He pled guilty to fraud and two counts of theft at a hearing on September 23.
Court documents said the defendant entered guilty pleas for three other offences at his September hearing.
This included handling a stolen phone at East Croydon train station on March 25 this year.
Mr McKendry-Brown committed a further offence at this time when he trespassed onto the railway lines at the station.
He was additionally heard for failing to surrender to custody in court last month after previously being released on bail.
Defence representative Dean Powell said at the hearing today that it was not the first time that Mr McKendry-Brown had not turned up to court.
The bench of magistrates issued a warrant for the arrest of the defendant, meaning he could be subject to a further fine or prison sentence on top of his other offences.
Bromley Council revealed last month that 38 motorists had been prosecuted in the borough between July and September for abusing the Blue Badge scheme.
A total of £27,333 was ordered to be paid by offenders in the form of fines and court costs. The council said Blue Badges must be returned to the issuing authority if they had expired, been damaged or if the holders were no longer eligible or passed away.
