Zookeepers at Drusillas donned their best white sheets as part of the park’s annual Halloween photoshoot, going about their tasks while dressed up for the festivities.
The phantom keepers helped the animals with their trick or treating by handing out their favourite snacks – and even found time for a break on the merry-go-round and the banana swings.
Jacinta Dawe, one of the zookeepers at the Alfriston-based zoo, said: “We’re all huge Halloween fans at Drusillas and the ‘creepy keepers’ loved getting into the scary spirit.

“Becoming a friendly phantom was very simple, we simply cut the eyes in bed sheets, popped on our favourite sunglasses, and set off to haunt the park for this frightful photoshoot – I think the results are pretty spooktacular!
“It’s not just the keepers who love this time of year, the animals do too, because of all the pumpkins we have in the park.
“Once our Halloween event is over, the pumpkin decorations are offered up to many of them as a tasty snack, so they can enjoy a fa-boo-lous time too.”
The creepy keepers donned their disguises as Drusillas prepares for its “Shriek Week” Halloween event this half term.
Events including a live-action haunted house and spider encounters will take place from today until November 3.
