Thames Valley Police Detective Inspector Stuart May, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “This is a tragic case that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy and wounding of his friend. This has been a very complex investigation and trial at Reading Crown Court over the past nine weeks.

“Too often we are reminded of the danger of carrying and using knives, the devastating consequences and the impact such a short moment in time has on the victim, their family and friends.

“Violence and knife crime will never be tolerated in the Thames Valley and the offenders now have a long time in custody to reflect on their actions that night.

“Knife carrying will not be tolerated in High Wycombe, and through Operation Deter, you can expect to be robustly dealt with, charged, remanded and placed before the courts.

“My thoughts and that of Thames Valley Police very much remain with the family of Cameron Bailey and his friend at this difficult time.”
