The Bigjalebi Diwali Charity Ball, held on Sunday, 6th October at Oakley House, Bromley, was an extraordinary event that united communities, showcased cultural vibrancy, and raised substantial funds for charity. Running from 5 PM to 11 PM, the celebration brought together people from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds, perfectly encapsulating the essence of Diwali—unity, joy, and generosity.

A Night to Remember

Organised by Sumeet Jalan and Ritu Jalan, the event was a tremendous success, raised fund for three charitable organisations: Madlani Cancer Support, The MumMum Foundation, and Yoga Mission. These charities, which work in both the UK and India, focus on critical areas like cancer support, child welfare, and wellness initiatives.

The event saw participation from a diverse mix of people, with a significant presence from both the Indian and English communities. Oakley House was transformed into a Diwali wonderland, with lights, traditional decor, and an atmosphere of warmth and festivity.

Cultural Fusion and Star Performances

One of the evening’s most enthralling moments was a mesmerizing dance performance by Karan Pangali of KSPARK. His Bollywood-inspired act captivated the audience, delivering a high-energy spectacle that was met with thunderous applause. The cultural fusion didn’t stop there; Brazilian dancers also performed, bringing a delightful and unexpected global touch to the evening that left the crowd cheering.

The entertainment was further amplified by the MK Roadshow, with a live DJ and singer who kept the energy levels high throughout the evening. Guests were invited to join the stage, where many took the opportunity to sing and dance, making the celebration lively and interactive.

Special Guests and Community Leaders

The event was graced by notable figures from both the business and political worlds. Gareth Bacon, MP for Orpington, attended and commended the event’s inclusivity and the celebration of cultural diversity. He mingled with attendees, embracing the charitable spirit of Diwali.

Also present was Kuldeep Singh Shekhawat, Director of MATV UK, who enjoyed the evening and was seen taking photographs with other prominent guests, including Partha Sarathi Panda. Partha Panda, an entrepreneur, founder of Can-Do Personnel Recruitment Agency, film producer, and Conservative leader, participated in the event and shared his enthusiasm for the cause. In his statement, Panda praised the event’s ability to bring different communities together while supporting noble causes.

The funds raised at the event will go towards Madlani Cancer Support, The MumMum Foundation, and Yoga Mission, each making a significant impact in the lives of those they support.
