Hailsham: East Sussex firefighters tackle huge blaze

Waste at the recycling plant Haulaway in Apex Way, Hailsham, was burning when crews were called after 10pm last night.

The blaze caused as much as 20 square metres of damage, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) said.

At its peak, there were seven fire engines at the scene.

Crews used foam and other equipment to put out the blaze, which is being treated as accidental.

There were no casualties, ESFRS said.
